Permanent position: Client that designs & constructs heavy industrial plants in the Oil & Gas industry is looking for a Manager of Field Construction Operations for their project execution division in Houston. You need 20+ years of experience supporting heavy industrial plant EPC projects and some specific construction experience supporting gas processing (natural gas, ethane recovery, sulfur, hydrocarbon, nitrogen rejection, gas treating, etc...), petrochemical or refinery EPC projects. *** compensation is commensurate with experience ***

Responsibilities for the Manager

  • Work out of the corporate office supporting multiple EPC project by providing overall management of site Safety, Construction Management site teams, site management of subcontractors, and coordination of Company field personnel
  • Assist the VP of Construction, Project Construction Managers, and Project Managers in establishing project strategy, plans, and construction execution philosophies
  • Make periodic trips to all construction sites to evaluate safety, quality, progress & the overall status
  • Primary focus on leadership of Construction management site teams for implementation of execution strategy and plans
  • Oversight of the Construction Management site teams and facilitation of communication and interaction among the functional representatives, internal and external, especially between field operations and home office Project team members
  • Assure that subcontract documents are understood and properly managed by the Construction Site Manager and Construction Management site team for subcontract administration and management
  • Work with the Construction Site Manager to establish and implement the Construction Management infrastructure as required for each Project in accordance with applicable Policies, and Work Instructions
  • Assist the Project Construction Manager, Construction Site manager, and Project Manager with update of the Construction cost forecast portion of the Project Cost Report

Requirements for the Manager

  • 20+ years of overall experience related to heavy industrial plant construction projects
  • 10+ years of experience managing heavy industrial plant EPC projects valued at $50-500million or higher
  • You need some specific construction experience supporting gas processing (natural gas, ethane recovery, sulfur, hydrocarbon, nitrogen rejection, gas treating, etc...), petrochemical or refinery EPC projects
  • Advanced Technical Training is needed, but a Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • You should expect domestic & international travel to project sites up to 50% of the time
  • You need to be very proficient with generating documents, reports and presentations by yourself using Excel, Word & Power Point
  • You need a broad understanding of each construction discipline
  • You need some experience with project schedules, project finance (metrics, billing & working financial reports) & cost engineering (coding, commitments, trending & forecasting) related to these EPC prejects
