job summary:

NATIONAL ACCOUNT MGR

The National Account Manager is responsible for the development and management of new and existing accounts. Source and develop potential accounts; update and maintain all forms of account files. Assist the Senior VP to achieve the highest possible ROI. The National Sales Manager must also enhance staff accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members. This position will require the candidate to be able to:

  • Responsible for strategic key account relationships and goals.
  • Manages retail account sales organization to meet and exceed planned sales goals while maintaining MD Science lab's overall fiscal goals.
  • Develops retailer business, including competition, inventory, sales, merchandising, pricing,margin, product categories and items. Introduces new items and works closely with the team to assure sell through.
  • Leads in cross-team communication with MD Science Lab's organization, acts as a point of contact for sales organization facilitating communication.
  • Strategically studies retail landscape to determine areas of opportunity and uses this information to develop new accounts and volume
  • Prepares and contributes to forecasting and projections.
  • Prepares and participates in shows, sale meetings, and representative meetings for each account. Follows through with the requested deliverables and information.
  • Responsible for volume growth and cross sale objectives.
  • Must be able to negotiate prices and terms with customers.
  • Development of sales strategy and account planning.
  • Provide written reports on sales and development activities as requested by Senior VP.
  • Responsible for new account and product on boarding.
  • Administrative responsibilities related to record keeping, reporting and sales projections requirements.
  • Communicates with accounting on proper posting of receivables, and assist's with collection of receivables as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job qualifications:

  • A proven track record of sales success including 5+ years of Sales Management/Sales
  • Leadership experience, personnel management and key account responsibility.
  • Preferable the candidate has a background and/or education in the nutritional field.
  • Responsible,dependable, self -motivated and engaging. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Charismatic communicator and strong listener.
  • Excellent presentation skills, ability to powerfully articulate features and benefits of the product.
  • Strong communicator and influencer with superior active listening skills, able to understand and translate ideas, business priorities, and rationale for actions.
  • Is accessible, approachable and responsive to others, building collaborative, trusting relationships with retail partners. Demonstrates flexibility and ability to influence others.
  • Self-motivated, highly determined and not easily deterred. The person should possess initiative and an "entrepreneurial" spirit.
  • Must be organized, opportunistic, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • The person should have great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • This position is based in our Pompano Beach, FL office and requires approximately 35% travel - tradeshows, overnight, domestic and international.
