Permanent position: Project Manager role immediately available in St. Louis, MO with one of the largest full-service construction management firms in the St. Louis area. The project manager will be responsible for providing support and direction for the entire project team. Only local candidates will be considered at this time.

Responsibilities for the Project Manager

  • Work with project superintendent to insure governmental compliance with OSHA and EPA standards
  • Report the profitability on the project, maintain budgets, and reports on project risks
  • Accurately report the profitability on the project, maintain budgets, and reports on project risks
  • Schedule and run all job site meetings except Foreman meeting
  • Oversee the procurement process including submittal review
  • Identify, apply for, collect and maintain all permits
  • Consult with directors on all issues that could potentially result in legal action
  • Work with the Project Superintendent to insure the Quality Control Program is implemented
  • Code and approve all invoices
  • Meet or exceed profitability projects and maintain budgets
  • Buy out project and write subcontracts that limit risk to the company
  • Manage and oversee the Change Management Program for the project
  • Prepare Schedule of Values, oversee the preparation and approve Billings to Owner
  • Develop and update a detailed schedule with input from the Superintendent and Subcontractors
  • Mentor direct reports and/or less experienced staff (Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers and Project Coordinators)
  • Develop and maintain a relationship with the Owner, Architect/Engineer and other subcontractors

Requirements for the Project Manager

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Business or closely related field AND 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager
  • Without a degree, candidate must have 5 years of professional experience in commercial construction as a Project Engineer and/or Assistant Project Manager
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of Applications
  • Completed, or will complete within a year, the OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Course
  • Able to climb stairs at job sites and traverse uneven walking/working surfaces at job sites
  • Able to climb ladders up to 30 feet in height at job sites
  • Able to wear all required personal protective equipment as necessary
