Permanent position: A Quality Engineer/ Continuous Improvement Specialist is needed for a leading paper manufacturing organization neat Kalamazoo, MI. Quality Engineer/ Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for leading quality and continuous improvement initiatives within the facilities lab. Qualified candidates must have a BS in engineering, 1+ year of quality and continuous improvement experience within a paper plant. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities for the Quality Assurance Engineer

  • Lead quality and continuous improvement initiatives within the facilities lab
  • Research and evaluate customer quality complaints; travel to customer sites as needed
  • Conduct trail planning for quality improvements, and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Work with regulatory authorities on approved chemical lists, and maintain applicable document control systems

Requirements for the Quality Assurance Engineer

  • 1+ year of quality and continuous improvement experience within a paper plant
  • Candidates with strong internship or co-op experience within a paper plant will be considered
  • Must have experience working within a lab setting
  • SAP proficiency is preferred
  • Experience with Kkepner-Tregoe methodology is preferred
