Contract position: A manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science is looking for a Quality Technician in the Fairport, NY area. This is a 1 year CONTRACT position. No per diem available.

Responsibilities for the Quality Technician

  • The quality inspector checks incoming materials to drawing specifications and records results. They interact regularly with Planning, Purchasing, Production, and Engineering to understand priorities and to keep incoming product flowing. They collaborate with engineers to ensure appropriate incoming inspection processes are in place and to improve documentation of component drawings and inspection procedures.
  • They understand the value of utilizing statistics in optimizing the data that is collected. The quality inspector is knowledgable about the precision and accuracy of the measurement equipment available and consistently makes sound decisions in implementing the methods and procedures that utilize the equipment that will provide the needed information in the most cost effective manner.

Requirements for the Quality Technician

  • Associates degree required.
  • Scratch/Dig inspection experience with optics preferred. Strong GD+T understanding required. Programming experience with CMM and Vision systems required. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with others in a positive manner required.
