job description

This candidate will implement Design for Reliability methodology to New Product Introduction projects and sustaining projects in medical device industry, identify design risks, drive to mitigate design risks and enhance product reliability. This candidate will also monitor field data and provide priority for product improvement.

Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Participate FMEA, identify design risks, and identify component and system reliability tests
2. Develop accelerated or highly accelerated reliability testing to optimize test duration
3. Define test protocols including test procedure, sample size, test duration
4. Design and build test fixtures to simulate real application of the product
5. Automate and execute the tests using Labview, or other automation software
6. Perform reliability data analysis using Reliasoft software package or other equivalent
7. Write test report, recommend design improvement
8. Perform failure mode analysis and root cause analysis using reliability tools
9. Analyze field failure data and warranty data
10. Work with vendor to ensure purchased parts meet reliability goal

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or science
2. Basic understanding of reliability engineering, reliability techniques and statistics
3. Understanding of ALT, HALT, HASS, MTBF, MTTF
4. Strong hands-on skills, able to design and build test fixtures
5. Excellent computer skills to automate the test, experience in Labview, TestComplete
6. Experience in reliability testing and analysis
7. Excellent communication skills and good documentation discipline
8. Be able to lift up to 40 Lbs
9. Highly motivated and quick to learn new things
10. Willing to be flexible for changing environment and tasks
11. Knowledge of Design for Reliability methodology

Qualifications:
Experience:
1-3 years of working experience in a technical capacity
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
Specialized knowledge:
Knowledge in Design for Six Sigma is a plus.
