Local Real Estate Affiliate is looking to hire a Sr. Mortgage Underwriter

 
location: Port Chester, New York
job type: Permanent
salary: $85,000 - 95,000 per year
work hours: 9 to 5
education: No Degree Required
experience: 5 Years
 
responsibilities:

Responsible for the review, risk assessment and underwriting

of FHA and Conventional loans.

Review loan files for complete documentation.

Interprets underwriting guidelines and applies industry knowledge in rendering risk decisions.

Uses automated underwriting systems, reviews findings, and conditions for additional data/documentation to support the

AUS findings.

Analyzes appraisals for compliance with GSE and investor guidelines to ensure collateral value is supported.

Reviews file for compliance with FHA and HUD underwriting guidelines.

Compiles and distributes FHA information to processing and sales staff.

Understands department goals set by management and assists in meeting those goals.

Contacts Mortgage Consultants to discuss issues identified during the underwriting process and assists in the resolution of

these issues.

Assists in providing support of risk decisions when requested to by management, investors or auditors.

Must have leadership skills and desire to lead; Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience

Must have DE Designation

Proficient with MS Office including, Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
