Contract position: Technician needed for an industry-leading utility company in the Roanoke, VA area. This is a 1-year CONTRACT position. No per diem available.

Responsibilities for the Technician

  • Laboratory Technicians serve in support of Transmission and Generation and third party interests, performing a variety of independent, non-routine, and more complex quantitative analyses using sophisticated laboratory instrumentation.
  • The Lab Technician Associate performs the preparation oil samples prior to analysis and performs a variety of technical duties requiring limited independent analyses, organizing work, and learning to make analytical decisions based on quality control results and trends.
  • The Technician Associate must have excellent computer based skills required to work with laboratory software, equipment asset database, and be competent in Microsoft Office.

Requirements for the Technician

  • Associate's degree in Science in Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology. Excellent computer based skills required to work with laboratory software, AEP's equipment asset database, and be competent in Microsoft Office.
