Randstad is currently partnered with a reputable State Government department to recruit for an Accounting & Finance Officer:
- Job title: Accounting & Finance Officer
- Hybrid location: Melbourne CBD + Work from home (WFH)
- Contract duration: 3 months - immediate start
- Rate: VPS4 $58.41-$66.27 per hour + super
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Accounts Officer will be responsible for:
- Accurately record and monitor accruals, ensuring proper expense matching.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately, maintaining organised records of all entries.
- Perform reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and other general ledger accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring reconciliations are completed accurately and timely.
- Assist with the preparation and execution of EOFY financial activities, ensuring all records are up-to-date and ready for year-end closing.
- Support the finance team in producing comprehensive EOFY financial reports.
Key Skills Required:
- Qualified accountant
- CA/CPA qualification (preferred)
- Proficiency in Oracle
- Background in accounting and finance with 5+ years experience
- Willingness to obtain a police check
The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in financial data analysis within a government organisation.
