Randstad Holding nv is proud to announce that Annemarie Muntz, Director Group Public Affairs, has been elected as the new President of Ciett, the International Confederation of Private Employment Services, at its annual conference in Brussels last week. She takes over the helm from Fred van Haasteren, who was executive vice-president Social & General Affairs at Randstad until his retirement from the company in 2011.

With its mission ‘shaping the world of work’, Randstad attaches great importance to strong industry federations. There is a clear need for labor market policies to be approached much more actively, with unjustified restrictions on temporary agency work being lifted and relevant interventions stepped up. In order for businesses, and indeed economies, to remain innovative and competitive in today’s environment, flexibility – and therefore flexible labor – will be imperative. A flexible workforce has proven to increase productivity and improve competitiveness.

Annemarie Muntz commented: “We see a new world of work emerging, at an ever-increasing pace, and it is up to us to decide how to embrace this change. Our industry has a crucial role to play for both people and companies and there is plenty of research to prove the positive impact of the contingent workforce on the labor market and throughout the economy. By working together, we can simultaneously promote the interests of all stakeholders, create employment opportunities for people and give business a sustainable future.”
