Randstad C&P are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on various commercial schemes in Southampton! The regional contractor are actively looking for a driven, determined professional with a background in construction and a minimum of 1+ years experience working on construction projects in a similar role. The opportunity boasrts providing successful candidate with an excellent onboarding scheme and trainnig plan, as well as hands-on first hand experience working on multi-million £ schemes.
Responsbilities:
- Research and identify potential suppliers, negotiating pricing, contracts, and terms.
- Place orders considering necessary lead times and track shipments for timely delivery.
- Sending out tender project packages for pricing.
- Tracking responses and updating project documentation.
- Conducting take-offs for materials, verifying quantities with requisitions and creating purchase orders.
- Manage scheduling of external and internal meetings with relevant parties such as suppliers, subcontractors, designers and more.
- Good time management skills and an ability to organise and coordinate multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong analytical, and problem solving sklills, in addition to an excellent eye for detail.
- A proactive, driven individual with a desire to grow and learn more about the industry.
- Prior experience working in the construction industry in a similar position.
- Experience or willingness to work in developing internal processes
- and cloud-based filing systems (desirable)
