Responsibilities
As a Corporate Responsibility and Environment Specialist, your duties will be:
•Ensuring the company’s EMS is compliant with ISO 14001;
•Ensuring the company’s EnMS is compliant with ISO 50001;
•Overseeing the process surrounding the management of environmental aspects, gap analyses, corporate objectives, non-compliance and corrective actions;
•Coordinating the logistics for the preparedness and monitoring of the Corporate Environmental Action Plan.
•Coordinating and conducting internal audits and produce compliance reports
•Coordinating the logistics of the annual ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certification audits and assisting external auditors during site visits.
•Planning and coordinating the Environmental Action Committee meetings.
•Overseeing the management of the performance evaluation processes and prepare performance reports to the Company’s officers
•Coordinating environmental and energy programs and subprograms’ analysis;
•Identifying business risks and opportunities to improve management systems;
•Working closely with team members and various business units’ representatives within the company to: Manage, coordinate and implement environmental programs; Ensure successful completion of the annual environmental action plan related to issues under his/her responsibility; Participate in the elaboration of the team’s annual Business Plan; Review and evolve the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) Framework by collaborating with primes and relying on industry standards and/or best practices.
Qualifications
•University degree in a field relevant to the position together with graduate-level education in a related field or a master’s degree in environmental science;
•Spoken and written fluency in English and French;
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
•Practical knowledge of the Canadian environmental legal framework (federal, provincial and municipal)
•Good knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018 standards
•Experience in coordinating an EMS
•Ability to manage uncertainty
•Autonomous and comfortable to deal with tight deadlines
•High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
•Positive and solution-oriented attitude
•Ability to analyze data
•Well organized and thorough in performing tasks
•Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with peers
Nice to have:
• Good understanding of company's environmental and corporate responsibility issues
•ISO 19011 internal auditor certificate
•Experience in telecommunications.
