Director, Global Health and Social Impact, JapanThe Director, Global Health and Social Impact, is responsible for leveraging the full extent of resources and partnerships to address the burden of disease for underserved communities in Japan to improve access to quality health care, medicines and vaccines.As the owner of social corporate responsibility in the market, the Director will develop local programs aligned with the global strategic priorities of health investment, product access, Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) and global partnerships.The GH&SI approach to health investments is access to good health outcomes. Therefore, local programs aim to address the wider determinants of health and social & health inequalities by working with patient and community groups in Japan.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and implement a local country CSR strategic plan based on global priorities and local needs.Identify, develop and leverage local partnerships addressing social determinants of health impacting the health outcomes of historically disregarded communities.Work in partnership with Corporate Affairs SPOC and acts as a member of the Leadership CA team to develop, execute and support CA goals and plans.Oversee local GH&SI team members (excluding Patient Advocacy team).Position as a thought leader in CSR and ESG by setting appropriate local ESG goals and proactively liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders to align policy, engagement, and communication efforts (external and internal) associated with ESG.Drive internal engagement for ESG work.Serve as key ESG spokesperson for the company and represent company in key ESG-related forums.Develop external communication programs to maximize success and impact of local health partnerships and ESG programs.Oversight of operations of Japan Health Research Foundation, set goals and establish performance metrics.Develop and manage colleague engagement community programs such as colleague giving and volunteering programs.Provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior management in the areas of ESG and health partnerships.Develop metrics and monitor partnership outcomes to improve performance and select optimal partnership opportunities.Manage corporate donations to maximize positive impact on reputation and positive health outcomes.Manage relationship and partnership activations with VHO-Net and other partners.Participate in VHO-net activities, aiming to support patient groups in their PPI (Public and Patient Involvement) initiatives. Build cross-functional collaboration to contribute to improving health literacy of patient groups.Manage the program by understanding the needs of the organizations applying for a grant and making a preliminary selection.Manage collaborations between and patient groups in alignment with Patient Organization Governance and Guidelines.Maintain in-depth knowledge of all relevant regulations and guidelines with respect to relationship with patient groups, information disclosure, and grant administration included in the learning programs for patients conducted by the Institute for Pharmaceutical Development Infrastructure (Ji4EP).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree in Business and ̸ or Communications.
Functional knowledge of the English language (oral and written).
10 years of experience in Corporate Social Responsibility or similar function.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree with Specialization in ESG or Corporate Responsibility.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
This role interacts regularly internally with local senior management, global GH&SI leadership, local BU management, colleagues and externally with community and government stakeholders.
SUPERVISION
This position includes matrix responsibilities within Japan and potentially across IDM.
