The Assistant Director, Rehabilitation, reports to the Director of the Performance and Wellbeing
Team, which is part of an energetic and busy People Branch responsible for delivering strategic and value added human resources services. Working in accordance with relevant legislation and agency procedures, the Assistant Director is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the rehabilitation of injured or ill employees (compensable and non-compensable matters) to ensure a safe and durable return to work.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Rehabilitation Case Management team to deliver excellent services and achieve the best possible outcome for the department.
- Ensure the department’s Rehabilitation Management System (RMS) remains compliant with the relevant regulatory framework.
- Working closely with the leadership team across People Branch and contribute to cross function reporting as required.
Qualifications and Education:
- Certificate IV in Injury Management, or relevant qualification in Human Resources, is
Capabilities:
- highly developed leadership and management skills including the ability to lead a team, manage projects and resources, prioritise and delegate tasks to meet objectives
- the demonstrated ability to deliver high quality advice, case management and other similar HR support services in accordance with the relevant regulatory framework, and
- the demonstrated ability to lead a strategic approach to essential workplace issues such as rehabilitation services in a well-regarded and forward-thinking department.
What you'll need to succeed
To be eligible for this position you will need to be an Australian Citizen, hold a Federal Government Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1 or NV2) or be willing to obtain one
Candidates who are permanently employed in the APS are encouraged to apply as a section 26, labour hire, or NGO. Also, candidates who are currently working in a private sector with strong transferable skills, are highly encouraged to apply.
