Position: Children's Social Worker - Kinship Team
Location: Gateshead Council
Hourly Rate: £26 per hour
Gateshead Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Social Worker to join our Kinship Team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and families within our community. You will work closely with kinship carers, providing essential support and ensuring that the highest standards of care are met.
Responsibilities:
... - Supervision of Kinship Carers: Provide ongoing supervision and support to kinship carers, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to provide excellent care.
- Connected Persons Assessment: Complete thorough assessments to determine the suitability of kinship carers.
- Regulation 24 Assessments: Conduct assessments in line with Regulation 24 to ensure compliance and appropriateness of care.
- Foster Carer Reviews: Participate in regular reviews of foster carers to evaluate and enhance the quality of care provided.
- Support Services Participation: Actively participate in and contribute to support services offered to kinship carers and foster families.
Requirements:
- Registered with Social work England
- A Degree in Social work or Diploma in SW, CQSW, CSS
- Right to Work in UK
- Enhanced DBS check, dated within the last 12 months
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in children's social care.
- Experience: Demonstrable experience in a similar role, preferably within a fostering or kinship team.
- Skills: Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment: A genuine passion for supporting children and families, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
