About the role:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Logistics Supervisor. The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the receipt and dispatch of ballot papers by the logistics team, managing the reconciliation of receipt and dispatch, supervising a small team of pick/packers, and ensuring efficient logistics operations throughout the election process.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the logistics team in the receipt and dispatch of ballot papers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in handling all materials.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of ballot papers onto and from vehicles, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
- Assist with the initial setup and training of pick/packers before the election as a morning supervisor.
- Provide guidance and support to pick/packers to ensure they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
- Manage the reconciliation of receipt and dispatch, ensuring that all ballot papers are accurately accounted for and documented.
- Maintain courier manifests and documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Receive and sort ULDs (Unit Load Devices), pallets, and other incoming shipments, ensuring that all materials are properly organized and stored.
- Set up tables, chairs, and scanning equipment for the tracking of ballot paper cartons.
- Operate forklift equipment to move and transport ballot paper cartons, ULDs, and pallets as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations while operating forklift equipment.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably in logistics, warehouse management, or a related field.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations, including receipt, dispatch, inventory management, and courier services.
- Familiarity with best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
- Valid forklift license and demonstrated proficiency in operating forklift equipment.
- Ability to safely and effectively maneuver forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
