Providing support and assistance to students with SEN to promote their academic and personal development
Collaborating with teachers and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching materials
Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported
Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support for students with SEN
Delivering one-to-one or small group interventions to address specific learning needs
Supporting students with personal care and medical needs, if required

Specific Duties:

Working closely with SENCO to assess and monitor students' progress and provide regular feedback
Implementing strategies to support students' social and emotional well-being
Facilitating communication and interaction for students with communication difficulties
Liaising with external agencies and professionals to ensure coordinated support for students with SEN
Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in SEN provision

Person Specification:

Genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and promoting inclusive education
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers
Ability to adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN
Empathy, patience, and resilience to overcome challenges and celebrate successes with students
Previous experience working in a similar role or with individuals with SEN is desirable but not essential
Commitment to ongoing professional development and willingness to undertake relevant training
