We are working with an institutional bank on the project of uplifting their trade surveillance capabilities for the financial markets business. They currently have a requirement for an experienced professional to help build out the risk & compliance frameworks for this function. This is a unique ‘building’ role with a high focus on successful and timely delivery.

Responsibilities:
- Advise on the design and implementation of the surveillance controls to monitor for conduct risk scenarios for the Markets & Treasury business.
- Conduct independent reviews and controls mapping to identify any deficiencies and mitigate various key risks (ie. Data, Technology and Business Continuity etc.).
- Uplift process flows, data quality/lineage, technology driven attributes and surveillance scenario logic/code to meet internal and regulatory obligations.
- Perform oversight and assurance to the business risk owners, ensure appropriate controls, systems and procedures are in place.
- Test and calibrate surveillance scenarios to ensure the solution delivered is tailored for business needs.
- Benchmark surveillance controls against relevant regulatory guidance.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in Institutional Markets trade surveillance role or relevant.
- Good knowledge of conduct risk frameworks and requirements.
- Knowledge of Markets business activities and processes, including market misconduct ideally on a global scale.
- Strong stakeholder management and project management capabilities.
- Understanding of SQL/Splunk programming languages is highly desirable.
