We are in search of a dedicated SEN teaching assistant ready to support children in both KS1 and KS2. Your main responsibilities will involve working with children aged 5 to 11, predominantly in specialised schools located in the Wakefield region.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children's personal and educational information.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, as needed to provide holistic support.
- Be prepared to handle crisis situations, such as meltdowns or behavioural challenges, in a calm and professional manner.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of children with SEN, ensuring they receive the appropriate resources and accommodations.
- Assist in teaching essential life skills, such as time management, organisation, and self-advocacy, to prepare children for post-school life.
Requirements:
- Solid familiarity with the national Key Stage Curriculum.
- Proficiency in various teaching techniques suitable for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- A thorough comprehension of child development and the learning process.
- A strong commitment to cultivating positive connections with children and comprehending their requirements.
- The capacity to offer personalised attention, encouragement, and assistance with learning assignments.
- Either possessing an Enhanced DBS check or being prepared to obtain one through Randstad.
- Eligibility to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.
