If you answered "yes" to these questions, then we want to hear from you! The secondary school in Leeds is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Attendance Officer to join the school on a long-term basis, starting ASAP until the end of the academic year.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS clearance on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Previous experience working as an attendance officer in a school setting is essential
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
- Proficiency in relevant IT systems and software
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and record student attendance, following up on any absences promptly and efficiently
- Work closely with students, parents, and external agencies to address attendance issues and provide support where necessary
- Implement strategies to improve attendance rates and reduce persistent absence
- Maintain accurate attendance records and produce reports as required by senior management
- Collaborate with teaching staff to identify patterns of absence and implement targeted interventions
- Provide support and guidance to students and families regarding attendance policies and procedures
- Liaise with relevant external agencies, such as the local authority and educational welfare officers, as required
