Launch Manager
Location: Lode Ln, Solihull B92 8NW
Main Purpose of the Job: To support the Plant through the management and coordination of all launch-related activities.
Main Missions and Results:
- Lead cross-functional on-time, on-cost product launches.
- Successfully coordinate running changes.
- Implement and ensure team adherence to Project Management Systems.
- Manage plant interface to support Program targets.
- Demonstrate understanding of JIT/Lean Manufacturing System, general manufacturing, and application of PFMEA/DFMEA/FMEA.
- Develop and follow detailed and effective timing and action plans.
- Foster effective working relationships across all departments.
- Direct cross-functional teams to ensure prompt responses to program needs.
- Maintain personal credibility with customers, balancing customer relationships and profitability.
- Coordinate responses with the Commercial team.
- Complete and update Launch Readiness Reviews monthly.
- Identify and resolve key issues through Launch Readiness Documents.
- Ensure Phase Reviews are held on time, regardless of exit status.
- Document and monitor progress of exit exceptions.
- Clearly identify and escalate issues requiring management intervention.
- Maintain launch timing plans, update progress, and incorporate contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies into the master time line.
- Apply, execute, and maintain function-related Project Milestones/Timing Plans.
- Perform additional tasks as defined.
Quality:
- Understand relevant clauses within IATF 16949.
