Duties & Responsibilities
Corporate Risk and Governance:
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain risk management policies and procedures ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Risk Event Management: Drive actions internally to ensure risk events are well managed and closed within reasonable timeframes.
- Reporting: Produce regular reports for Management and relevant governance bodies.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with and guide internal and external stakeholders on risk-related matters.
- Risk Registers: Maintain risk and risk event registers in line with internal procedures.
- Project Involvement: Undertake projects/tasks as required to facilitate smooth operations.
- Product/Project Development: Assist in the development and implementation of new products/projects across the organization.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor client and company Equity Portfolio risk on a real-time basis.
- Risk Modelling: Develop various risk models on Equity products.
- Policy Development: Develop internal and risk policies to safeguard client and company funds.
- Incident Resolution: Coordinate with IT, Risk, Compliance, and relevant teams to resolve incidents and critical issues.
- Business Continuity Plan: Coordinate and manage the company’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with regulatory circulars (SC, BURSA), generate reports, provide feedback, and make suggestions to management.
IT Risk:
- Strengthen IT Risk Controls: Enhance Risk Management controls related to Information Technology.
- Technology Risk Assessment: Assess effectiveness and efficiency of technology internal controls in line with regulatory expectations and best practices (e.g., RMiT, Information Security, Data Security, Network Security, Cyber Security best practices such as NIST framework).
- Independent Risk Assessment: Perform technology risk assessments, identify controls, and mitigate risks in line with best practices within the stockbroking and fintech industry.
- Vendor Evaluation: Evaluate the performance of third-party vendors’ systems.
- Financial Risk Mitigation: Analyze, close gaps, and mitigate the risk of financial loss.
- Market Support: Support domestic/potential foreign trading markets on risk matters.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Experience: More than 5 years of working experience in risk management, internal controls, or a related field, preferably within the stockbroking industry.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements related to the industry.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex situations and recommend effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Risk Anticipation: Ability to anticipate potential risks and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them.
- Technical Understanding: Understanding of e-stockbroking technology and its implications on risk and control measures.
