Responsibilities
• Gather and develop requirements to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan
• Experience developing and managing project schedules, deliverables, and scope
• Ability to promote I&IT project management best practices and adherence to standard methodologies
• Demonstrated experience directing project teams to ensure project deliverables are delivered on time and adhere to government and ministry standards
• Extensive experience coordinating and monitoring project processes, and developing/communicating guidelines and procedures
• Resolve resourcing and inter-personal conflicts, negotiate changes to resourcing, ensure knowledge is shared among team members such as project objectives and deliverables are met
• Effectively manages large project budgets and ensures a high level of fiscal control and accountability including estimates, gating, forecasts, and reconciliation/confirmation of actuals
• Proactively identifies potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed
• Articulate and prioritize issues and risks at senior executive levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers
Qualifications
- Project Management experience (as appropriate to the specified experience and level) and use of Project Management software (as appropriate to the specified experience level)
- Experience in monitoring project performance against project plans and generating progress reports
- Experience in Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
- Demonstrated experience preparing and distributing project updates, progress reports to project stakeholder while managing expectations pertaining to scope and timeline constraints
- Demonstrated experience communicating across many functional areas to actively engage project stakeholders and manage client expectations with diverse interests, technical and non- technical backgrounds using the appropriate level of political acuity and messaging for the audience
- Able to communicate in business language and with technology expertise
