About the department
This position will be assigned to the NSCD (New Serious Chronic Disease) Commercialization Unit and will report directly to the Commercial Director of MASH Department. This team willl oversee all aspects of conducting Commercialization activities that are critical in market development for the therapeutic and diagnostic drugs for MASH. We bring value by launching innovative medicines and solutions within serious chronic diseases to improve patients’ quality of life and ensure a sustainable business growth.
The NSCD Commercialization Unit leads commercial efforts, partners with key internal and external stakeholders and engages broadly in the internal and external ecosystem around MASH, Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) and Cell Therapy with a focus on delivering transformative therapies to patients with serious chronic disease.
The position
As a Senior Manager, you are to generate the strategy and lead the commercialization in all phases of pre-launch phase, launch preparation, and throughout after the launch. Some of your key activities will be to:
In the pre-launch phase (c.a., within 36 months before launch), Therapy Area (TA) development is the most important priority with two Critical Success Factors (CSFs) 1) To increase NASH diagnosis %, 2) To improve NASH medical management.
During a launch preparation phase (c.a., within 18months before launch), help illustrating a launch excellence roadmap (e.g., where to play, how to win/ Go-To-Market) and executing a preparation based on plans, and support building an organizational set-up under Go-to-Market plans including assessment (e.g., organizational size, focus). Also, drive commercialization across value chain through robust methodical initiatives
Throughout the period, be an interface / a single point of contact (SPOC) for a couple of Global/ IO initiated projects.
Build capacity and capabilities in the new TAs to prepare for launches (starting from -36M of launch).
Other main job tasks are: Business Planning & Administrations, Project management & support leading cross functional team, Business & Financial forecasting, Customer engagement (*Pre-promotion is prohibited), Gain business insight & Market intelligence, Explore collaboration with external partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or above (Master’s or PhD preferred) within Science or Business is essential.
5+ of commercial work experience (Pharmaceutical/ Medica device) is necessary.
Experience to initiate and drive own project, and to be involved in the global/regional projects is required.
Experience of leading cross functional projects within a commercial / or multi-functions and execution of methodical plan consistent with brand strategy are essential.
Japanese (especially reading/writing) and English skills is necessary.
