Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor - M&E

Job Overview: My M&E subcontractor client are seeking an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of their projects by effectively managing the costs and contracts associated with mechanical and electrical works.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing subcontractors and concrete NEC experience.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of contracts based on NEC3 & NEC4 forms of contract
- Responsible for the successful delivery of these contracts ensuring to achieve set margin target
- Liaise regularly with the client aiming to develop and maintain a good working relationship and resolve issues at the project team level
- Successful change management both at the Main Contract and Subcontract level
- Maintain cost control throughout the life of the contract and take proactive measures to maintain the desired balance between Value and Costs
- Analyse and report on costs, accruals and forecast costs using company accounting and commercial systems available
- Support in the tendering process by preparing subcontract enquiry documents, tender analysis and recommending the project team in the selection of the most suitable subcontractor/supplier
- Procurement of subcontractors and materials
- Subcontract management including drafting of the subcontracts, assessment of application for payments, change management etc.
Candidate Requirements:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or similar / Equivalent HND
- Experience with managing M&E packages
- Working knowledge of NEC
- Subcontractor background
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and associated costs.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong attention to detail and analytic skills.
