    Job Purpose To provide a patrolling and response service to all residents of Newport in order to ease and resolve a wide range of problems associated with anti-social behaviour in residential areas especially outside normal working hours. To respond to complaints about stray dogs in the city in line with Council protocol and procedures. You will also be required to ensure COVID regulations are adhered to amongst the public.Key Results Areas To provide a pro-active patrolling service of residential areas to identify and report environmental and anti-social behaviour problems.To provide a response service to general requests for assistance in residential areas in relation to anti-social behaviour; including the verification of incidents, the identification of parties involved and the resolution of immediate problems.To deputise for the Community Safety Supervisors when required.To undertake external liaison on behalf of the Community Safety Warden Service with appropriate Public, Statutory and Voluntary Agencies. To carry out the duties of a 'Professional Witness' and collect relevant evidence and present this as required to enable the Council to take legal proceedings as required.To carry out appropriate administrative and equipment maintenance work, to include making appropriate records.To carry out work as required by Community Safety Accreditation Scheme including using the enforcement powers bestowed by that accreditation.To be authorised to issue 'Fixed Penalty' Notices under Environmental Legislation enforced by the Council and issue fixed penalty notices where appropriate. To enforce Byelaws and other relevant anti-social behaviour or environmental legislation. To locate and pick up stray dogs and ensure their transportation to the Council kennel.Qualifications and Experience Experience of working in a team, with minimum supervision, and with the public is essential. Must have a current, Full UK Driving Licence Experience of dealing with confrontational situations and the ability to record information are essential. Working Pattern The post holder will be required to work a shift pattern, which includes late evenings, 1 weekend a month and bank holidays, between 07:00 and 22:00 hours as instructed. The majority of the service will be delivered between 13:00 hours and 22:00 hours, 5 days a week. Some of the service will be routinely delivered during office hours. Officers who are asked to change from evening work to office hours to deliver a short-term project will be given reasonable notice.
