Refugees around the world leave their birth countries for a variety of reasons — to escape war, persecution or terror — but they share a common desire for economic opportunity in their host communities. That’s why it’s important to give them sustainable employable skills as part of their resettlement journey. 

Randstad has long been committed to helping refugees around the world, and today I’m happy to announce we have joined other leading organizations to support the needs of refugee women through an initiative created by the Tent Partnership for Refugees and Catalyst. Along with more than 20 other companies across Europe, Randstad employees will mentor at least 50 refugee women over the next three years, including Afghans who have resettled in Europe.

Refugee women have traditionally experienced lower levels of employment than men, especially in the first few years of arrival in Europe. This initiative helps them join the labor market more quickly through coaching on CV preparation, interview etiquette and professional networking.
