1st or 2nd-year welder apprentice.

About the Role

Our busy South East Edmonton shop is actively searching for a reliable 1st or 2nd-year Welder Apprentice to join our fabrication team full-time. Let’s be clear: this isn't for seasoned welders looking for complex builds. It's a high-volume tacking job—a perfect foot in the door.** While the day-to-day tasks can be repetitive, this role is an absolute goldmine for an apprentice looking to rack up massive trade hours quickly thanks to tons of available overtime. We focus heavily on aluminum products, so you'll get solid MIG experience and steady work while you build your logbook.

Advantages
Massive Overtime Availability: Build your apprenticeship hours rapidly while cashing in on extensive overtime opportunities available right now.

Standard Day Shift Hours:Your baseline schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, keeping your core routine predictable.

Dependable Weekly Compensation: Get paid every single Friday through Randstad, so you never have to wonder when your next check is coming.

Practical Shop Experience. Ideal entry-level launchpad to get comfortable with shop flow, practice basic aluminum MIG, and learn from journeymen.

Responsibilities
Your primary focus will be performing repetitive tacking and fabricating aluminum cable trays for large-scale production runs.

Execute standard MIG welding on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel (we will train you extensively on our specific aluminum processes).

Support senior welders with material prep, basic assembly, and simple shop support while getting comfortable on the tools.

Keep your workstation, welding tools, and equipment clean, organized, and running properly.

Strictly adhere to all shop safety standards to ensure you and your crew go home safe every single day.

Qualifications
Must hold active and valid registration as a 1st or 2nd-year Apprentice Welder in Alberta.

You must know basic welding principles—we need someone with fundamental skills, not a total beginner, but not an expert.

A High School diploma or an equivalent level of education is required for this role.

Must possess up-to-date WHMIS certification and comfortable passing a standard Criminal Record Check.

Strong drive to rack up logbook hours, a great attitude for routine production work, and basic hands-on welding experience.
