Are you a strategic storyteller who thrives on turning complex government programs into clear, engaging narratives? We are seeking a Senior Strategic Communications Officer to join a high-performing team focused on driving economic growth and sustainable development.
Unlike traditional media-heavy roles, this position is deeply embedded in strategic and operational communications. You will be the architect behind communication frameworks for diverse programs of work, bridging the gap between high-level strategy and internal operational excellence.
While you will handle some media management, your primary focus is strategic impact. You will play a key role in:
Program-Led Strategy: Designing and executing communication plans for major work programs that align with long-term objectives.
Operational Excellence: Standardising internal documentation and processes to ensure consistency across the organisation.
Capability Building: Programming internal learning initiatives and setting up strategic training sessions to uplift communication skills across the business.
Stakeholder Influence: Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing high-level context and strategic direction for all messaging.
To be successful in this AO7-level role, you must have extensive experience within a government environment and a proven track record of managing complex approval pathways.
Your toolkit should include:
Strategic Vision: Experience leading the development of innovative communication services that meet overarching strategic goals.
Adaptability: The ability to work across different programs of work, proactively adapting your approach as requirements evolve.
Exceptional Communication: A knack for communicating in a clear, deliberate manner that resonates with varied stakeholders—from executive leadership to external partners.
Autonomy & Collaboration: The ability to work independently on complex projects while fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.
Attractive Remuneration: Highly competitive hourly rate ($88.29 – $94.59 + super).
Flexible Work: True hybrid working arrangements to support your work-life balance.
Inclusion Matters: Join a workplace that genuinely values diversity of thought and experience.
Values-Driven Culture: Work in an environment that encourages you to learn and go further together.
If you are a strategic communications professional with a passion for government service, we want to hear from you.
At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all. We actively encourage applications from any background.
