We are partnering with a world leading science and research company in their search for an Oracle Accounting Specialist. This is a 12-month temporary role based in Horsham, offering a hybrid working model (2-3 days in the office) and a pay rate of up to £46 per hour via PAYE.
The Role:
Following a recent transition to Oracle, you will support the stabilisation, standardisation, and continuous improvement of the accounting function. Combining hands-on operational accounting expertise with end-to-end process analysis, you will address current issues and backlogs, strengthen controls, and establish defined, sustainable future-state procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Analysis & Stabilisation: Conduct detailed reviews of end-to-end accounting processes to identify gaps, address backlogs, and implement simplified, standardised workflows.
- Complex Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex accounting issues surrounding accruals, outstanding balances, and period-end accounting topics.
- Reconciliations & Month-End: Perform detailed reconciliations and provide hands-on operational support across core accounting activities and month-end close processes.
- Control & Documentation: Document existing processes, define clear ownership and control points, and develop transparent future-state procedures post-Oracle go-live.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with international Finance, AP, and operational stakeholders across Switzerland, the UK, and the USA to drive consistent global solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Track identified improvement actions through implementation to ensure root causes are fully addressed and dependency on individual knowledge is reduced.
This role could be right for you if you have:
- Technical Experience: Strong, hands-on finance background across Oracle products.
- Oracle Module Expertise: In-depth working knowledge of Oracle modules, specifically AP, AR, Project Costing, and Fixed Assets.
- Process Mapping & Remediation: Proven experience clearing accounting backlogs, mapping end-to-end workflows, and establishing robust internal controls.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate findings, risks, and recommendations to international management teams.
