AO6 Senior RTI / Privacy Advisor
Brisbane | Hybrid working options | $82.98 per hour + super | Contract to 4 December 2026, with potential for extension or permanent appointment
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Right to Information and/or Privacy professional to join a Queensland Government organisation on a contract basis, with the opportunity for the role to potentially extend or transition to a permanent position.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in RTI, Privacy, information access, compliance, governance or related legislative environments to provide advice, manage matters and support the organisation’s obligations under the Queensland Right to Information Act 2009 and Information Privacy Act 2009.
The role will provide exposure across a range of RTI and Privacy matters, with responsibilities tailored to your experience and area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities
...- Provide advice and support on RTI, Privacy and information access matters
- Manage and assess access requests and related enquiries
- Provide advice on legislative, compliance and privacy requirements
- Support Privacy Impact Assessments and privacy risk assessments
- Assist with privacy breaches, complaints and other information management matters
- Prepare correspondence, advice and documentation relating to RTI and Privacy matters
- Contribute to privacy and information access awareness, guidance and training
- Support the ongoing improvement of relevant policies, procedures and processes
About You
We are interested in hearing from professionals with experience in RTI, Privacy, or both.
You may have experience in:
- Applying the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) and/or Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld)
- Managing RTI applications, information access requests or privacy matters
- Providing legislative, compliance or policy advice
- Conducting or supporting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) or privacy risk assessments
- Working within a Queensland Government or broader public sector environment
You do not need to have experience across both RTI and Privacy. Strong experience in either discipline will be considered.
