We are currently seeking an Intermediate Application Engineer to join a premier solutions provider in Mississauga. This role is ideal for a technical expert with a background in Emerson DeltaV systems who enjoys blending engineering design with commercial strategy.
The Role: Application Engineer
As an Intermediate Application Engineer, you will be the technical pivot point between customer needs and complex automation solutions. You will provide engineering input for high-stakes quotes, design control architectures, and act as a subject-matter expert for process control systems.

Responsibilities
Solution Design & Architecture: Translate RFQs into functional automation solutions, including control system architecture and scope definition for brownfield tie-ins and upgrades.
Engineering Support: Provide core input for accurate quoting, including P&ID review/markup, wiring and schematic design, and instrumentation specification.
Client Consultation: Work directly with an established DeltaV DCS customer base to promote new products and identify system growth opportunities.
Commercial Strategy: Prepare professional, complex proposals and multi-line quotes, ensuring pricing aligns with commercial guardrails and margin targets.
Lifecycle Management: Identify renewal opportunities for support agreements and position strategic upgrades (annual vs. multi-year) to existing clients.
Technical Resource: Act as a mentor and subject-matter resource for peers regarding Emerson tools and best practices.
Qualifications
Education: University degree in Engineering or a Technologist Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience: 4+ years of experience in an Application Engineering role with significant customer-facing exposure.
Technical Expertise: Deep proficiency with Emerson Business Unit tools and systems (DeltaV experience is highly preferred).
Hardware Knowledge: Previous experience designing and working directly with control panels is considered a strong asset.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to deliver technical seminars and internal training.
Professional Designation: A P.Eng. designation is an asset but is not mandatory.
