We are partnering with a major Federal Government client within the disability sector to recruit a large team of dedicated Support Needs Assessors. This is an exciting opportunity to join a national team with a strong and collaborative culture.
About the Opportunity
As a Support Needs Assessor, you will be responsible for conducting high-quality, accessible, and respectful assessments by communicating clearly with participants, using trauma-informed and culturally-aware approaches so participants understand the process and feel heard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage & Assess: Conduct support needs assessments through both virtual and face-to-face channels, utilising trauma-informed and culturally aware practices.
- Critical Analysis: Deep-dive into complex information, files, and external evidence to research and synthesize a participant’s unique circumstances.
- Report Writing: Prepare clear, objective, and strength-based assessment reports that accurately summarize the participant's needs.
- Collaborate & Escalate: Work independently within a supervised framework, collaborating across teams and escalating complex risks or policy limitations when necessary.
Ideally you will possess:
- Allied Health Qualifications: Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Psychotherapy, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation Counselling, or Counselling essential. Registered or Enrolled Nurses will also be considered.
- Assessment Expertise: Recent experience administering support needs or person-centered assessment frameworks is highly valued.
- People & Communication Skills: An adaptable communication style with the ability to build rapport quickly with a diverse range of participants.
- Critical Thinking: Strong cognitive capacity to evaluate information critically, analyze data, and solve problems.
