About the role
The BI Developer is responsible for the hands-on development and delivery of complex and high-quality BI solutions.
This role focuses on building data models, reports, and analytics products; engaging directly with stakeholders to define requirements; and ensuring all deliverables meet development standards. The BI Developer ensures solutions are well documented, supportable, and built for long-term value creation. This role also contributes to continuous improvement and provides mentoring to junior BI developers, helping to uplift technical capability across the team.
Our team works in close partnership with Digital and key business stakeholders, with operations across Australia and North America to support safe, reliable global operations.
Based in Bengaluru, the BI Developer reports to the BI Lead and is responsible to deliver complex BI solutions within the Managed Tier that effectively meet stakeholder needs and generate value for the organisation.
We work together to maintain Woodside’s secure digital environment in support of our mission.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business users, internal stakeholders, IT, and Digital teams to understand data sources, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
Adhere to data governance standards, security protocols, and best practices in BI development and deployment.
Architect, develop, implement, and maintain business intelligence solutions within the Managed Tier.
Gather and analyze business requirements to design and deliver BI solutions that address stakeholders' needs.
Create and enhance dimensional data models, DAX calculations, and Power Query transformations for advanced data analysis and reporting.
Develop data visualizations to effectively communicate insights.
Create documentation to ensure the sustainability of work.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity within the BI environment.
Mentoring and supporting other BI Developers.
Skills & Experience:
Min 5-year’ previous experience in managing end-to-end Business Intelligence projects.
Strong knowledge of data governance standards, security protocols, and best practices in BI development.
Proficiency in architecting, developing, implementing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions.
Experience in the oil and gas industry is essential.
Ability to gather and analyze business requirements for designing tailored BI solutions.
Hands-on experience working with Snowflake as a core data platform.
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field
Deep expertise in the Microsoft BI stack (Power BI, Report Builder, Fabric, etc.).
Microsoft PL-300 certification
