Our client's team is seeking an experienced independent Chief Accountant/Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the full scope of accounting and financial reporting activities for the Polish entity.
This stand-alone role requires the candidate to ensure compliance with local and corporate requirements, drive process improvements and provide accurate, timely financial data.

- Managing month-end and year-end closing processes for local and corporate purposes,
- Entering limited financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries into the ledger on a monthly basis, as well as preparing reports,
- Reviewing and approving journal entries, adjustments, preparing monthly accounts reconciliations and performing accounts analysis to ensure that balances are correct and have proper supporting documentation,
- Financial statements preparation under local GAAPs (Polish Accounting Act),
- Coordinating with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits and compliance requirements,
- Timely preparation and filing of statistical reporting,
- Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting and proactive initiation of changes required,
- Overseeing the accounting processes to ensure that financial information complies with professional and regulatory standards,
- Developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance,
- Univeristy degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or CPA, ACCA or equivalent certification,
- Proven experience as a Chief Accountant/Accounting Manager (Polish entity) or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial standalone role,
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS),
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively to non-financial stakeholders,
- Collaboration and communication skills,
- Fluent English and Polish including professional vocabulary,
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities,
- Excel, Power BI literacy,
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work,
- Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential financial information,
- Adaptability and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and regulations,
- Previous exposure to ERP systems, and SSC environment preferred,
- Experience with data analytics will be an advantage,
