Primary Objectives of the Role
As a Civil Designer, you will produce high-quality engineering investigations, site assessments, detailed design drawings, and technical documentation for municipal infrastructure projects. Working closely with the Senior Design Engineer, you will ensure all civil designs are safe, compliant, and constructible.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Drafting: Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to prepare accurate engineering drawings for roads, drainage, intersections, pathways, and car parks.
Investigations & Estimates: Complete site assessments, quantity calculations, material schedules, and cost estimates to support construction budgeting.
Quality & Governance: Maintain accurate project records, drawing registers, and version control standards.
Funding & Reporting: Assist in compiling technical data for council reports and state/federal grant submissions (e.g., Black Spot, MRRG, Road to Recovery).
Stakeholder Support: Provide timely, technically informed responses to community and internal design enquiries through the Customer Request Management system.
What You Will Bring:
A minimum of a Diploma in Civil Engineering (or substantial progress toward a relevant qualification).
Proven practical experience in civil and road design, detailing, and estimating.
Essential, advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D detail road design.
Sound knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines (AUSTROADS, MRWA, IPWEA, and Liveable Neighbourhoods).
A current White Card (Construction Induction), a valid C Class Driver's Licence, and a National Police Certificate.
