In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse pipeline of projects spanning urban development, public infrastructure, and the public sector. This position offers a rewarding mix of conceptual and detailed design, regulatory liaison, and construction phase services, working hand in hand with an integrated, multidisciplinary team of engineers, and drafters.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the senior leadership, you will play a key role in delivering high quality, sustainable outcomes for a broad portfolio of private and government clients. Your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Design & Analysis: Preparing detailed designs for civil infrastructure, including roads, stormwater management (WSUD), sewerage, and water reticulation.
- Documentation: Producing clear, well reasoned technical reports, project specifications, and accurate project cost estimates
- Project Management: Managing project lifecycles seamlessly from initial feasibility through to final completion, ensuring milestones are consistently met within budget and scope.
- Authority Liaison: Coordinating directly with local councils, state authorities (e.g., TasWater, State Growth), and key stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
- Construction Support: Providing technical advice during the construction phase, including conducting site inspections and responding to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Compliance: Ensuring all infrastructure and civil designs comply strictly with relevant Australian Standards, building codes, and environmental regulations

What You Will Bring:
- Qualification: A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or an equivalent degree recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Experience: 3+ years of post-qualification experience within an engineering consultancy environment for an intermediate level, or 5+ years for a senior level appointment.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in industry-standard platforms, specifically 12d Model, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D
- Hydrology Expertise: Proven experience with stormwater modeling and hydraulic design software (e.g., DRAINS, MUSIC)
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and technical writing skills, with a proven ability to clearly present complex engineering concepts to non-technical clients and stakeholders
