This position is best suited to an experienced tradesperson who has moved into QA/QC and has a detailed, practical understanding of how large-scale concrete pours are prepared, executed, inspected, and completed at a process plant or major industrial construction site.

Responsibilities
-Perform planned and unplanned civil and concrete QA/QC inspections.
-Inspect excavation, subgrade, backfill, compaction, foundations, formwork, reinforcing steel, embeds, anchor bolts, and construction joints.
-Complete pre-pour inspections and confirm pour readiness.
-Monitor concrete delivery, placement, vibration, finishing, curing, testing, and repairs.
-Confirm work complies with approved drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, applicable codes, and industry best practices.
-Identify quality risks, deficiencies, and non-conformances and support their correction and closeout.
-Review inspection records, test results, material documentation, and contractor quality reports.
-Coordinate with the Owner, EPCM, contractors, designers, and testing agencies.
-Maintain accurate inspection records, photographs, reports, and turnover documentation.
-Prepare Quality Productivity and Surveillance Reports when deficiencies or non-conformances are identified.
Qualifications
-Extensive hands-on experience in civil and concrete construction.
-Strong preference for a trades background, such as carpentry, concrete finishing, reinforcing steel, or civil construction.
-Previous QA/QC, inspection, foreperson, superintendent, or construction supervision experience.
-Detailed knowledge of large concrete pours, including formwork, reinforcement, embeds, placement, vibration, finishing, curing, testing, and repairs.
-Experience with large-scale concrete works at a mine, process plant, or major industrial construction facility.
-Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, procedures, and inspection and test plans.
-Strong field judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
-Relevant trade, concrete inspection, or construction quality certifications are preferred.
