Key Responsibilities:
I) Plant Operations and Production Management:
1. Manage daily operations of the Membrane Cell Caustic Soda Plant to meet
targeted production, quality, and yield.
2. Monitor critical process parameters (brine preparation, electrolysis, separation,
concentration, utilities).
3. Ensure minimum downtime and optimal equipment utilization.

II) Process Optimization and Cost Control:
1. Drive continuous process improvements to enhance plant productivity and
energy efficiency.
2. Implement best practices in caustic soda manufacturing and contribute to cost
reduction initiatives.
3. Analyze production data and KPIs to identify bottlenecks and performance gaps.
III) Safety, Health and Environment (SHE):
1. Ensure strict compliance with GACL’s safety standards, SOPs, and statutory
norms (GPCB/CPCB).
2. Promote a safety-first culture and conduct regular safety audits, training, and
mock drills.
3. Coordinate with the SHE team to address any potential environmental or safety
risks.
IV) Team Management:
1. Lead a team of engineers, shift officers, operators, and technical staff.
2. Ensure skill development, performance management, and succession planning.
3. Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement culture on the
shop floor.
V) Interdepartmental Coordination:
1. Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Purchase, Finance, Marketing
and other departments to ensure smooth functioning.
VI) Documentation and Reporting:
1. Maintain and review documentation related to production logs, plant parameters,
safety incidents, and compliance.2. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management regarding plant
performance, challenges, and improvement plans.
Profile:
1. B.E./B.Tech.(Chemical) (Full time) from a recognized university/ institute with
post qualification experience of minimum 24 - 26 years in process engineering in
large size company, out of which at least 10-12 years should be Managerial
position respectively.
2. Candidate should have capability of solving intricacy of process especially of
caustic soda plant and others to keep plant running at 100% production capacity.
3. He should be responsible for effective production planning, sustaining production
with optimum energy and raw materials to compete with peer industries.
4. He should be able to develop innovative ways for lowest requirement of
manpower with competitive edge in reference to product quality with peer
industries.
5. Candidate should be responsible for production planning with effective utilization
of human resources, natural recourses, materials and maintaining them at
optimum level.
6. He should be capable of building teams with high technical and administrative
values for future developments.
