We are now looking for a motivated Junior Expert to join the Microbiology and Bioinformatics Group at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). This position offers a unique opportunity to provide interim services within a highly specialized team, focusing on genomic epidemiology training (GenEpiBioTrain) and wastewater surveillance. You will work at the heart of European public health, contributing to projects that strengthen the continent's ability to detect and respond to infectious disease threats. Your primary focus will be supporting the microbiology team in two key areas: GenEpiBioTrain (Genomic Epidemiology Training) and wastewater surveillance.
What is GenEpiBioTrain?
GenEpiBioTrain is an interdisciplinary training program funded by ECDC. It is designed to strengthen skills in genomic epidemiology and public health bioinformatics, helping European professionals analyze pathogen sequencing data for surveillance and outbreak response through courses and virtual workshops.
