Randstad is proud to partner with a leading government utility organization dedicated to serving local communities across Melbourne. We are seeking an experienced Event Advisor to manage the logistics and delivery of a vital community engagement program.

... - Pay Rate: $69 – $75 per hour + super
- Location: Hybrid | Office base with travel to various community locations
- Contract Length: Initial contract until November 2026, with potential to extend
Note: Flexibility is required to attend events outside of standard business hours when necessary.
Role Responsibilities
You will oversee the end-to-end delivery of Customer Care Days and community events at local halls. These events provide face-to-face support for customers navigating billing and account changes following the rollout of a new system.
Key responsibilities:
- Event Logistics: Book venues, manage event logistics, coordinate equipment, and oversee pack-down.
- Scheduling & Data: Use the event booking system to develop schedules and analyze customer data to strategically target future event locations.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Lead pre-brief meetings and collaborate with Customer Experience teams to ensure events are fully staffed with customer consultants.
- Community Engagement: Build relationships with community networks, local councils, and Not-For-Profits (NFPs) to expand event reach.
- Reporting: Compile monthly reports on performance, customer numbers, and key themes to share insights with the broader business.
- Comms Support: Work with the wider Communications team to develop event briefs, invitations, and materials.
Key Selection Criteria
- Event Experience: Proven experience in the end-to-end planning, delivery, and evaluation of community or public sector events.
- Logistics & Budgets: Strong organizational skills with experience managing supplier relationships and project budgets.
- Communication: Empathic and inclusive communication style, with the ability to confidently brief teams and engage with a diverse public.
- Data & Reporting: Ability to interpret data trends to build strategic reports and schedules.
- Risk Management: Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate operational, safety, and reputational risks.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or equivalent corporate experience. Government or utility sector experience is highly desirable.
