Field Labour Assistants - contract/temp

This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of grain research, supporting world-class breeding programs for peas, lentils, and more.
The Role
This is a hands-on, physically active role that follows the rhythm of the seasons. You will be supporting essential field, glasshouse, and laboratory work that ensures our research milestones are met.
Your daily tasks will include:
...Precision Picking: Selecting single plant samples and filling sample bags (peas/lentils).
Harvest Support: Riding in harvester cabins to collect samples and loading them into utes.
Field Maintenance: Hand weeding (using a hoe) and clearing whole rows of plants.
Research Assistance: Biomass sampling, soil coring, seed cleaning, and documenting results.
Trial Prep: Helping prepare seeds and plots for next year’s sowing season.
Requirements
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys staying active and working outdoors. Please be aware that the position involves:
Significant walking, squatting, and bending throughout the day.
Working in varying outdoor weather conditions.
Manual handling and loading of samples.
