The General Manager will take full operational and financial responsibility for the business. This position requires managing day-to-day construction activities, driving financial performance, and leading staff development across the organisation.
Oversee the delivery of all active formwork packages across Melbourne, ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and schedule requirements to a Tier 1 standard.
Manage the company's operational budget, cash flow, and overall P&L performance, reporting regularly to the Managing Director.
Lead, mentor, and develop office and site-based personnel, including project managers, estimators, and site supervisors.
Maintain and develop working relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 clients, serving as the senior point of contact.
Collaborate with the Managing Director to refine operational systems and support the strategic direction of the business beyond 2026.
Proven experience in a senior management role, such as General Manager, Operations Manager, or Construction Manager, specifically within the FRP or structural subcontracting sector in Australia.
Demonstrated understanding of the operational and safety standards required when working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 principal contractors.
Strong financial acumen, with direct experience managing P&L statements, project margins, and financial forecasting.
Established leadership capability with a history of managing and developing diverse construction teams.
A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a business-related field is preferred, though equivalent industry experience will be considered.
