key responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operational Coordination: Lead and mentor a team of three professionals, fostering their growth while actively participating in daily transport planning (road, container, and water).
Strategic Cost Management: Negotiate pricing for new and existing routes and maintain strict oversight of transport expenditures.
Compliance & Legislation: Act as the expert on transport-related waste legislation, ensuring all activities adhere to high quality standards and legal procedures.
Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement by optimizing and automating workflows to enhance efficiency.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, reporting key metrics and performance insights to the Group Finance and Administration Manager.
Business Intelligence: Share relevant market insights with the team to elevate overall performance and strategic decision-making.
qualifications
Education & Experience: You hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent through experience) and bring at least 5 years of experience in an international transport environment.
Expertise: You possess extensive knowledge of road and water transport and are an expert in applicable waste legislation.
Leadership: You have a proven track record in leading (small) teams and know how to empower and motivate people.
Communication: You are a "caller by nature"—the telephone is your primary tool for getting things done quickly. You are fluent in Dutch and/or English, with a solid command of French.
Mindset: Action-oriented and result-driven, you maintain a cool head while managing multiple priorities. You think out-of-the-box and take full ownership of your responsibilities.
IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced in working with ERP systems.
