The Opportunity
Our client is a distinguished, family-owned Tier 2 Commercial Builder with a 50-year footprint across South Australia. Known for their "people-first" philosophy, they don't just build multi-million dollar commercial, residential, and industrial landmarks—they build lasting careers.
Due to a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, they are seeking an experienced SQE Advisor who is passionate about proactive safety, quality craftsmanship, and environmental stewardship.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
... Stability & Growth: 50 years of success with a massive pipeline of local SA projects.
Culture of Care: A family-owned business where you are a name, not a number.
Autonomy: Manage your portfolio with the trust and support of a seasoned leadership team.
Impact: Drive the continuous improvement of systems that protect people and the environment.
The Role
As the SQE Advisor, you will be the bridge between legislation and the boots on the ground. You won’t just be ticking boxes; you will be providing technical expertise, mentorship, and governance to ensure every project meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
System Strategy: Contribute to the continuous improvement of SQE systems and strategies.
Audit & Compliance: Coordinate audit programs and conduct site inspections to ensure 100% compliance with drawings and specs.
Risk Management: Lead hazard identification, risk analysis, and incident investigations to prevent future occurrences.
Reporting: Analyse SQE data to provide meaningful insights and monthly reports to the Operations Manager.
Quality Control: Champion a "zero-defect" culture by ensuring high-quality workmanship across all project phases.
Your Profile
You are a balanced communicator—equally comfortable presenting to management as you are walking a site and talking to subcontractors.
Requirements:
Experience: 5+ years in a WHS/SQE role within the construction industry.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of SA SQE Acts, Regulations, and Codes of Practice.
Technical Skill: Proficient in Microsoft Suite and modern safety/reporting technology.
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without close supervision.
Education: Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related field.
