Responsibilities
Surface Prep: Perform abrasive blasting and chemical cleaning to meet strict adhesion standards for steel vessels.
Precision Masking: Protect critical threads, gaskets, and flange faces from overspray to maintain mechanical tolerances.
Specialized Coating: Using airless or HVLP spray systems.
Equipment Care: Clean and calibrate spray guns, pumps, and ventilation systems daily.
Safety Compliance: Strictly follow OSHA standards for respiratory protection and hazardous waste disposal.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the planning, production, and fabrication departments to ensure all project deadlines are met.
Qualifications
Experience: 2+ years of industrial painting (preferably in heavy machinery, automotive, or filtration systems).
Technical Skill: Proficiency with airless, HVLP, and pressure pot spray systems.
Surface Prep Knowledge: Expertise in abrasive blasting (SSPC standards) and chemical degreasing.
Physical Stamina: Ability to wear a respirator for long periods and work in confined spaces or awkward positions.
