Process Engineer Photonic Integrated Circuits
Are you ready to pioneer the expansion of a cutting-edge integrated photonics R&D team and collaborate with top-tier high-tech industry leaders? Join TNO-PITC in Enschede and shape the future of optical technology.
As a Process Engineer at the Photonic Integration Technology Center (PITC)—a collaboration between TNO, TU/e, UT, and PhotonDelta—you develop and optimize advanced fabrication processes for photonic integrated circuits. You focus on thin-film phase modulators on silicon nitride (SiN) waveguides, bridging the gap between academic research and commercial applications in data security, quantum, and sensing.
In this role, you will:
- Develop innovative material deposition schemes for piezoelectric materials like PZT and aluminum nitride.
- Integrate piezoelectric stacks on SiN waveguides and characterize functional device performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists from TNO and the University of Twente.
- Assist industrial partners in implementing photonics solutions into their commercial products.
- Ensure fabrication processes remain efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with client specifications.
