About the Role

As an Associate Scientist within our Analytical Development department, you will be a key player in the Analytical Method and Stability Center (AMSC). You will join a specialized Peptide Team, focusing on the analytical support of New Molecular Entities (NMEs)—including both small molecules and new modalities—from Phase 1 through to final registration.

This is a 100% on-site, lab-based position in Beerse, where you will take ownership of high-level scientific experiments in a dynamic and collaborative R&D environment.

key responsibilities
- Analytical Excellence: Perform complex analyses to support product characterization, method development, qualification, validation, and stability testing.
- Data Mastery: Execute stability tests and provide scientific evaluation and interpretation of generated data.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all laboratory activities strictly adhere to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Innovation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical methods, specifically focusing on Liquid Chromatography.
- Team Collaboration: Maintain a flexible and proactive attitude, taking on diverse projects and tasks within the peptide team to meet collective goals.
qualifications
- Education: You hold a Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field (Chemistry, Pharmacy, etc.) or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent professional experience.
- Technical Expertise: You have strong hands-on experience with Liquid Chromatography (LC) and working within a GMP environment. Experience or affinity with peptides is a significant advantage.
- Background: 0-2 years of experience in drug development. (Please note: a purely biomedical background is typically not the ideal match for these specific techniques).
- Skills: You have an eye for detail, a "helicopter view" of processes, and the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
- Mindset: You are results-driven, have a sense of urgency, and possess a "can-do" attitude.
- Logistics: You are based in Belgium and able to work on-site in Beerse 5 days a week.
- Languages: Proficient in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Dutch is a strong asset.
