Responsibilities
Legal Drafting & Review: Draft, review, and proofread high-stakes legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, with meticulous attention to detail.
Case Management: Maintain a master-level organization of electronic and physical case files, ensuring all materials are current and accessible.
Discovery Coordination: Facilitate the discovery process by preparing documents for production, tracking critical deadlines, and reviewing responses.
Stakeholder Interaction: Conduct professional interviews with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather essential case information.
Administrative Excellence: Manage lawyers' calendars, schedule meetings, and handle docketing accurately to support firm management systems.
Professional Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for clients and court personnel, maintaining exceptional etiquette and clarity in all correspondence.
Qualifications
Licensing: Must be a Licensed Paralegal in good standing and/or possess a recognized Law Clerk diploma.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of direct work experience in a litigation environment is required.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS).
Technical Skills: Proficient in legal research, docketing software, and advanced document management practices.
Soft Skills: Exceptional proofreading abilities, professional phone etiquette, and the organizational prowess to manage multiple cases simultaneously without missing a deadline.
