Role: Local Laws Officer
Contract: 12 weeks (Casual Agency) with strong potential for ongoing extension.
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm. (Occasional weekend shifts with notice after training).
Pay Rate: $40.43 per hour (Band 4). A higher rate may be negotiated for candidates with exceptional experience and the right motivational fit.
Engaging with residents, conducting door knocks, and representing the Council in the community.
De-escalating customer frustration and communicating complex requirements with professionalism and clarity.
Interpreting and applying local legislation and by-laws.
Utilising field technology (handheld devices, body-worn cameras).
We prioritize attitude and communication skills above all else. You must have:
Exceptional Attitude & Team Fit (TOP PRIORITY): A genuine drive, willingness to learn, and commitment to positive teamwork.
Customer Service Focus: Proven ability to communicate effectively, handle difficult conversations, and provide great community service.
Flexibility: Availability for the required hours, including potential future weekend shifts.
Tech Savvy: Basic to intermediate computer skills.
Working Rights: Must have full Australian working rights.
Local Laws experience, while highly regarded, is not essential – we hire for attitude and train for skill!
